Description
The initial idea for this drawing was to create a tunnel effect, with my usual sitting figure about to fall down it.. Once it was drawn, with its many layers of different textures and a lot of dots, the effect also made it look reversed, and it looked like a globe, or hot air balloon.. There are seven ladders to escape on, and the chess board could symbolise possibility, or the choices that were made.. The title Inside Out was suggested by a friend, and seemed to conjure up both the idea of life turning inside out, and the optical illusion of going inside or coming out..
