Artmixturian meet-up at Yuan-Wen's exhibition in t Artmixturian meet-up at Yuan-Wen's exhibition in the Herrera Gallery, Barcelona.. Emma went along for the opening of the show, which looks great, and will be on until April 26.Visits can be arranged with the gallery, go check it out if you're nearby! About the exhibition:Hellas brings together works from different moments in Yuan-Wen Wang's artistic trajectory, tracing more than a decade of pictorial exploration. At the centre of the exhibition are two groups of works created through the gesture of erasure. A series produced around 2010 marks the beginning of this investigation, when the artist started approaching painting through subtraction-removing, softening and transforming the surface so that forms can gradually emerge. This line of inquiry reappears in a recent series in scroll format, where the process unfolds continuously, like a visual path in which each gesture, pause and erasure leaves its trace.Alongside these works, paintings from other periods reveal different formal approaches within her practice. Rather than presenting a chronological narrative, Hellas invites viewers to consider artistic practice as a field in constant transtormation. Here, traces are not only visible on the painted surface, but also within the artist's journey itself-gestures, decisions and moments that remain inscribed in each work....#creativecollective #herreragallery #barcelonaart #barcelonagallery #abstractpaintings
One of the wonderful performances from the first e One of the wonderful performances from the first ever live Artmixture Collective show, held in El Studio, Órgiva, Spain, on March 7th 2026. This video features an arm knitting performance by Moon, set to the improvised music of Deo Rajinder on Indian Tabla and Mix Amylo on clarinet and keyboard, with a specially created video piece by Emma Plunkett. This collaboration was devised and performed by Moon as part of the Artmixture Collective’s first live performance. Multi-instrumentalist Mix Amylo created the collective, organised the event and performed throughout the evening. Moon's painstaking and precise arm knitting, whilst weaving her shadow through the visuals, is meaningful and poetic. There’s no quick fix for making textile of this scale. She elegantly persists with her task, while Deo Rajinder keeps the pace on Indian Tablas and Mix keeps the mood flowing on clarinet and keyboard. Emma Plunkett provided the video back drop. For the visuals, she chose clips from her archive that represent air – whether contained or disturbing something visible. The video is in black and white to unify the textures with the live knitting process, which uses white fabric yarn. The showcase was a celebration of the Artmixturians who live in the Granada area, plus special guest Moon who travelled from Denia, and also those who live further away in northern Spain, and in other countries, who have collaborated on videos which were shown on the night. The live element of the concert featured dance and movement, music, paintings, drawings and photos, singers, poetry, storytelling and spoken word, with books and cards also on display..#creativecollective #creativecollaboration #armknitting #indiantabla #improv

Pugilist, Architect and DJ, Renouf’s artwork stems from several inspirations: Mayan culture, hallucinogenics, and the internal struggle of the self. The body of work recently produced, some of which is on display, represents a five year journey culminating in art that offers no apology in provoking debate both with the self as well as the collective. These genuinely individual pieces can be hung as seen or alternatively lit, to expose a truly mesmerising image....#creativecollective #lightbox #graphicarts #ukartist #coolart

After graduating from high school in the Bay Area California, she joined the dance program at SUNY Purchase Arts College, but after 2 years she dropped out and moved to Manhattan. She started taking classes at the Merce Cunningham dance school and after only a few months was very very fortunate to be hired to dance in the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. After 4 years she chose to leave the company and moved to Barcelona. From there she went to Madrid and then back to her family's home in Jávea Alicante. After a 20 year pause from dancing Moon was involved in the Centennial Celebration of Merce Cunningham (a two year international celebration during 2018 and 2019) and that inspired her to start dancing again. For the past 8 years she has taught, choreographed, and been involved in different projects and performances. In 2020 Moon started making dance videos and is very inspired by this medium. Her current interests in dance include improvisation, instant composition, and movement investigation.Moon has been interested in sewing, beading, knitting and drawing from an early age and has been creating textile art and crafts for more than 15 years. She has co-created group art exhibitions and participated in photography shows. Currently she is an artist in residence at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas Experimentales A. FEATURED ARTMIXTURE ARTIST: GLEN LADEGAARD Glen La FEATURED ARTMIXTURE ARTIST: GLEN LADEGAARDGlen Ladegaard is a multidisciplinary artist working in ceramics and mixed media painting. She was born in Denmark, raised from age 10 in Australia, and these days spends a lot of time on the coast of southern Spain. Across both vessels and canvas, her practice explores the alchemy of material, surface, and transformation. Hand-built ceramic forms are finished with layered, self-made glazes, each firing revealing unexpected interactions of colour, texture, and depth. Her paintings begin on raw canvas and evolve through thick, deliberately unconventional layers of acrylic and oil, worked directly by hand and tool, scraped back and re-shaped as the surface transforms. Guided by both intention and chance, each work emerges as a singular object, carrying its own character and sense of becoming. The artworks shown here are paintings using cold wax, hand painted ceramics using blended glazes, watercolour, charcoal and mixed media. ...#norwegianartist #coldwax #ceramicsart #goddesses #femaleform
